The hydrostatic principle is used in industry to reduce friction in support bearings of heavy mechanical equipment (rolling mills, PZhT-fluid friction bearings).
With exceptional precision and ultra-low wear, hydrostatic bearings are widely used in the steel industry. Through inlet channels located between the working surfaces of the bearings, under the influence of external pressure, liquid lubricant is continuously supplied to the chambers. As a result, the bearing sliding surfaces are always separated from each other by a thin lubricating film, which prevents friction between the bearing sliding surfaces, while ensuring high positioning accuracy in the submicron range.
